Book: Proverbs 13
“It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them.”
As I work with individuals, leaders and ministries I often find that they have incredible God given desires and dreams which either have not clarified and/or expressed to others. With a little encouragement and guidance it is amazing to see their dream start to develop into reality. I stand back and say, “Wow, look what God is doing! Only He could put that desire/dream together.” And then I think of what it says in Ephesians 3:20, “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Following a God given dream/desire means stepping out in faith first. You have to take the first step. Remember what it says in Hebrews 11:6a, “It is impossible to please God without faith.” Fools refuse to take this step of faith.
One of the reasons people do not take this step of faith is because of fear and comments by others. Understand that many of those voices have not taken their step God desires of them and so they respond with foolishness. Be encouraged by what the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 1:25, “This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.” And then in Romans 8:31 “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”
One leader I spoke to who is on the journey of accomplishing the desires/dreams God has given him said, “I want to hang around people who are following the vision God has given them because they encourage me in my vision.” Spending time with people who are on a similar journey with God can be a great help to you.
Has God put a desire in your heart or a vision and you are struggling with taking the next step? Are you unsure what the next step for you is? First, I encourage you to take time today to talk to God about it as He has the answers. Secondly, find someone who is living that journey and is enjoying what God is doing. I would love to hear what God given dream/desire you have and be an encouragement to you.
