Book: Proverbs 10
“The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.”
Since the start of the internet it seems that the term “Life Long Learning” has become common to many professionals and business people. With the increase of information at everyones’ fingers, there is always more to learn in ones field of interest. Yet, at the same time older godly people have always been saying, “Every time I read the Bible there is always something new and fresh I had not seen or understood before.” You hear in their voice an excitement as they share what they discovered recently. When you hear them talk you sense great wisdom coming from inside them.
Contrast the above with someone who starts talking about a subject that they do not really know much about. What they say is very much “babbling”. It does not help the listener increase in knowledge or understanding and in fact can be annoying.
As a Kingdom builder, it is important to be a “Life Long Learner” so that we are well trained first in the ways of the King of Kings and secondly in the skills/talents He has given us to be used for God’s Kingdom. We also need to be people who can teach others in such ways so that they can become or develop as Kingdom builders.
Take time to consider in which area of your life are you a “Life Long Learner” and what areas you want further instruction in. What can you do today to further increase your knowledge and understanding? Then choose to take a step in that direction.
