Book: Proverbs 10
“Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life.”
Tainted, wickedness, ill-gotten are all.
Just because there is a way to make money (and lots of it) for yourself, your company, or your ministry does not mean it is acceptable before God. The word “tainted” in the New Living Translation is also translated as “ill-gotten” and “wicked”. A Kingdom builder wants to stay as far away from creating ill-gotten wealth as it brings dishonor and the King hates it. So what are some of those things that lead to tainted wealth?
In Micah 6 God is speaking to Israel and in verses 8,9 says, “O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Fear the Lord if you are wise! His voice calls to everyone in Jerusalem: The armies of destruction are coming; the Lord is sending them.”
The next few verses in Micah, He identifies some of the ways “tainted wealth” has been gained: Cheating, dishonest measures, extortion, violence, and lying (Read Micah 6:8-16). These are things God will not put up with and do not bring lasting value.
Take time to ask the Lord if there is anything in your life that is creating “tainted wealth” and then take steps that are needed to do what is right.
As a Kingdom builder, “do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God. Fear the Lord if you are wise!”
