Book: Proverbs 31
“Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies …Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.”
In a few days my wife and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary and it is appropriate for me to acknowledge that she is a woman who fears the Lord. (Over the last few months she has written some of the Kingdom Daily Wisdoms that you have read). She prays for her family and those she serves regularly. Women come to her to be mentored and be prayed for. She is King and Kingdom focused. She is truly very precious to me and our family. Yet she is also beautiful! I thank the Lord for her!
How is it that a woman (or man) can fear the Lord. They need to be in His word daily, bringing everything to Him through prayer and relying on Him for answers. It is through God’s strength and power that success comes. In Deuteronomy 8:18 it says, “Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful …” On our own we can do nothing of value.
Habakkuk 1:11, in the Old Testament, makes it even clearer where it says, “They are deeply guilty, for their own strength is their god.” Either the Lord is your God and you fear Him or you are guilty of making yourself god. Remember, what it says in the 10 commandments (Exodus 20), “You must not have any other god but me.” That includes making yourself God.
Ask yourself how in your own life you fear the Lord? Are there any areas that need to be submitted to Him that maybe you are still holding on to. Be a woman or man who enjoys God by fearing Him!
