Book: Proverbs 02
“For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.”
It may be difficult to comprehend but without God granting or giving wisdom we would not be able to obtain it. Many people believe they have found wisdom on their own but it is either what God has already revealed or else their own human wisdom that doesn’t compare to His.
Psalm 127:1-2 says “Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.” As you can see from theses verses, we need to be relying on God’s wisdom in all that we do if we want it to count for anything.
Psalm 119:98-100 carries on and takes it to the next level to demonstrate how obeying God’s wisdom puts one above others by saying, “Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide. Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws. I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.” If we want to be wise then we need to receive the wisdom God grants us. To receive what God has given we need to be reading it, meditating on it and constantly using it as our guide. It needs to be more than what we run to when we have exhausted all other means. God wants to guide us through every part of our day, every situation we come into and yes even be there for the joys we experience.
Take time to thank the Lord for the wisdom He has given you, spend time reading and considering His wisdom and allow His wisdom to lead you throughout this day. Let His word be on your heart day and night.
